“Gibson and Sons”

Where: Waldies Blacksmith Shop, 16 James Street, Milton.
Monologue not required, cold read from the script. There is no need to book an audition time as the director will be pairing actors in various roles to play off of each other (group readings). Please show up at the beginning of auditions and be prepared to stay until the end. Those auditioning are welcome to attend both audition nights for additional pairing opportunities however it is not required.
Characters: (Note: Ages of the characters will be determined based on availability of actors. Those auditioning for the roles of Katya Aristov and Eva Aristov must audition with a Russian accent).
Harry Gibson – Late 20s – mid 30s. Awkward and likeable. A bit lost.
Declan Gibson – Late 50s/early 60s. Gruff yet loving father trying to hold onto his family business.
Luke Gibson – Harry’s older brother. Charming. Going through personal problems.
Becca Rollins – Late 20s – mid 30s. Uniquely loveable. Ernest. Passionate.
Jo Hagman – Harry & Luke’s Aunt. Down to earth. Good sense of humour.
Katya Aristov – Late 20s – mid 30s. Russian accent required. Vibrant. Energetic. Charming.
Eva Aristov – Katya’s older sister. Russian accent required. Calm yet formidable. Wise.
Show Synopsis: Helping his father save their struggling small-town funeral home has gotten in the way of Harry Gibson's love life. Desperate to settle down, he turns to an unconventional method of meeting a woman: an online Russian bride service. When his bride Katya arrives, with her older sister Eva in tow, the Gibson family is thrown into a tailspin. Harry needs to convince his traditional father that he knows what he's doing, convince his friends and family that he hasn't lost his mind, oh...and explain to his bride-to-be that their marital home will be shared with the dearly departed. Gibson & Sons is a hilarious, touching comedy about family, love and making all kinds of relationships work...Even the unexpected kind.
