Character: Rose Westhaven

Actor: Lesley Quinn

WHAT WAS THE FIRST PLAY YOU WERE IN, AND WHAT ROLE?
LESLEY QUINN: My first play was in Grade 5, and was called ‘The Swinging Piper.’ I played a librarian. Who shouted all the time.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ROLE YOU'VE PLAYED?
LQ: I always hate this question. It’s like asking me to choose my favourite kid. But if I must, I’d have to say the role I’m currently playing. She’s so deliciously dramatic, and it’s also one of the most difficult roles I’ve played.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM ROLE TO PLAY, OR PRODUCTION TO BE IN?
LQ: Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney Todd. Hands down.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF BEING INVOLVED WITH THIS SHOW?
LQ: Getting a chance to work with both a director and actors that I admire.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD?
LQ: Coffee.
IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD PEOPLE BUY TICKETS TO THIS SHOW.
LQ: Because if you don’t, you’ll be missing one of the most creative, funniest, and emotional shows we’ve ever done!

The Reluctant Ressurection of Sherlock Homes

Character: Abigail Westhaven

Actor: Carla Zabek

WHAT WAS THE FIRST PLAY YOU WERE IN, AND WHAT ROLE?
CARLA ZABEK: I was an angel in the Christmas pageant in Grade 1 (if you could call that a play!) My first ‘official’ play was a high school production of Our Town in Grade 9 in which I was cast as a townsperson.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ROLE YOU'VE PLAYED?
CZ: That is a difficult question as I have several favourites for different reasons. My first challenging role was in a community theatre production of Our Town but this time cast as Emily when I was 16. The role of Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes in the parent/alumin/staff musical at Hillfield Strathallan College in 2011 is another contender as it reignited my passion for theatre after a 25 year hiatus. Charlotte in TMP’s production of Moon Over Buffalo is another favourite as it was my first TMP role and Charlotte was such a wonderful character to play and brought me such joy. I also have an affinity for Morticia in the Addams Family Musical which pleasantly surprised me.
WHAT IS YOUR DREAM ROLE TO PLAY, OR PRODUCTION TO BE IN?
CZ: I always wanted to play Laura in the Glass Menagerie but alas, am too old for Laura but would love to play her mother, Amanda. Another dream role would be Ranevskaya in Chekov’s The Cherry Orchard.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF BEING INVOLVED WITH THIS SHOW?
CZ: First, discovering the multi-dimensional character of Abigail which is an ongoing process. Second, the monologue at the end of the play is an actor’s dream. The closest experience I have had to that was Emily’s good bye monologue in Our Town.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD?
CZ: Another difficult question! I am of Polish background which means I really enjoy food in general! I probably could not live without chocolate and popcorn. Seafood is a favourite for sure.
IN ONE SENTENCE, WHY SHOULD PEOPLE BUY TICKETS TO THIS SHOW.
CZ: It’s elementary really, nothing can compare with live theatre; this production is unique in many respects and is unlike anything yet seen in Milton.
